Cazoo has promoted Lucy Tugby to the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
In her new role, working closely with dealer partners and internal stakeholders, she will lead the next phase of Cazoo’s challenger marketing strategy.
Tugby joined the business in 2019 and led the transition from eBay ownership to Motors and managed the rebranding of Motors to Cazoo which will complete on 27 May.
This is the second recent senior leadership team appointment following Thomas Orthgiess joining this month as Chief Product Officer.
Commenting on the announcement, Barry Judge, CEO of Cazoo said: “This is a pivotal promotion for Cazoo. We acquired the brand equity two years ago and have already started to scale that; now we need a leader who can take this to the next level of growth and make sure car buyers, dealers and the whole market knows what we stand for.
“Lucy has a deep understanding of the automotive retailing sector, sharp commercial instincts, genuine creative conviction and the confidence to lead a challenger brand without flinching.
“She will help lead Cazoo’s journey as a challenger marketplace which will see a considerable ramp-up in marketing activity following our rebrand.”
Tugby added: “This is an exciting time to become CMO as Cazoo accelerates its ambition to shake-up the status quo, offering a compelling and fair alternative marketplace for our dealer partners and their customers.
“Cazoo is a modern brand that is already resonating with today’s car buyers now as a marketplace. I’m looking forward to driving this next level of growth through smart and sustainable marketing investment.”
