MOTORS is thrilled to introduce a new way for dealers to access stock quickly and cost-effectively. Gumtree, our partner site, has got together with autobiz, one of Europe’s leading car auction platforms, to provide access to the huge number of private listings that appear on Gumtree every single month.
Starting with a regional trial in the West Midlands area, longer-term and based on a successful test, this could mean a new source of 100,000 cars or more a month.
Here’s how it works.

Simply sign up and create an account with autobiz – it’s completely free of charge.
2.
Set up preferences and receive alerts.
3.
Auctions go live every day, Monday to Thursday and run for 48 hours.
4.
Set a maximum bid on a car.
5.
The winning bidder is connected to the seller to arrange the inspection and completion of the sale.
6.
Dealers are invoiced monthly for all transactions completed in the previous month.
Special test programme.
You have been invited to take part in the preview and test programme which is limited to the West Midlands area only.
This doesn’t mean you need to be located in the West Midlands, but you need to be able to inspect and pick up cars from private sellers in that area.

Your first transaction is FREE, and thereafter, you’ll only pay £199 per vehicle*, regardless of the vehicle’s sale price. This means you can save significantly on your vehicle transactions.

Gumtree is a significant platform for private car selling – with over 100,000 listings uploaded each month. This partnership with autobiz helps car sellers list their cars for private auction, which dealers can bid on quickly. It also allows dealers to source stock at a competitive price, helping to reduce the cost of sourcing needs.
autobiz is a key provider in Europe of valuation and auction platforms.
Nothing. Signing up is completely free of charge. You only pay upon successfully buying a car after winning an auction.
The first transaction is free. Afterwards, and for an introductory period running up until 31 July 2024, there is a flat fee of £199 (excluding VAT) per vehicle, whatever the vehicle price. After the 31st July and following a successful trial period, the pricing will be extremely competitive and designed to help reduce the cost of sourcing needs.
No, not during this initial testing phase; the programme is restricted to private car sellers who are residents in the West Midlands area. When the programme is rolled out, cars will be available nationwide.
Each vehicle is fully profiled, and you can view photographs, specifications, condition of the vehicle, and service history.
