Beware phishing emails; together we can prevent fraud

Phishing is a common form of cybercrime and unfortunately due to its effectiveness this method of fraud is on the increase all the time. Whether it’s through emails, texts or directly on social media the message is usually attempting to get people to respond with their personal information, in the case of eBay Motors Group this would relate to your Dealer Centre login details. The best defense is awareness and knowing what to do if you are targeted.

Please don’t….

Click on any link, attachment or web link you are unsure of. All genuine email leads from eBay Motors Group come from [email protected]. If you are a motors only customer your leads will come from [email protected].
Never share your login details (including password) with anyone. eBay Motors Group will never ask for your private login information

Check any emails you receive: If you receive leads via email, we strongly recommend you check the email address carefully. Phishing emails often use addresses that appear familiar or similar but with small changes that may be hard to spot.

Watch out for emails with spelling errors and bad grammar as these have often been translated or are using misspelled words to get through firewalls undetected.

Once you have forwarded or reported the suspicious email we recommend you delete it from your inbox.
